Trend
Update:
This season is all about prints whether they are trousers, blouses,
footwear or purses; there’s no escaping them this fall. Pick from the varied
choices like checks, stripes, animal prints, polka dots, abstract prints or
paisley patterns.
Embrace prints in your daily wear, no matter your size or shape. In fact, wearing
prints is a good way to distract attention of your problem areas.
Mixing prints is in trend now. Be experimental, mix stripes with floral prints
or mix abstracts with polka dots. Although it doesn't come naturally to
everyone, start with mixing neutral colour palettes. Pick one
major print and complement with a minor or a safer print. So if you pick your
major print as big flowers then your minor print should be a more basic like
stripes, polka dots or simple checks.

Prints and different
body types:
Pear
shapes: If you're bottom heavy, opt for a printed top and
black pants to conceal your problem areas. Add a pair of gladiator flats to
complete your look
Apple shapes:
For those of you who are top heavy reverse the strategy by wearing a black top
and a beautiful printed skirt. Don't forget a pair of basic black heels to
finish the look.
Hourglass shapes:
Pick a floral dress or leopard print dress and add a belt to your waist to
accentuate your curves.
Taller shapes:
You can play around with prints extremely easily. Choose a floral maxi dress
add some beads, flats and you are off to a Sunday brunch.

Accessorise
with prints:
If you think prints are too bold or busy for your style then incorporate this
style in a subtle ways. Wear accessories -- shoes, bags or jewellery -- with
prints and patterns. A simple outfit with a pair of leopard print pumps or an
LBD with a floral print clutch will draw attention and will balance out the
look.

The
printed faux pas:
- Don't wear head to toe prints ever.
- Wear only one print piece at a time.
- Never wear printed accessories when
wearing clothes in busy prints or patterns.
- No matter how you do it, enjoy your
prints and patterns and above all have fun with them. Just remember not to
overdo it.
