Dress it Up!

Nothing spells lady-like more than the quintessential dress. Every woman must own five basic dresses in her wardrobe. Here's a list of what you should be looking for:

  1. The A-line dress:
You can never go wrong with the basic A-line dress. It hides most problem areas, looks feminine and can be easily dressed up and down to suit the occasion. To appear slimmer, one can play with the length of the A-line dress. Longer lengths are ideal for taller women while petite girls should stick to short styles. If you have very thick legs, try a mid-calf length and wear high heels to elongate your legs.
  2. The Bandage Dress:
This dress is sexy and figure hugging but before you panic, the bandage dress looks great on the Indian figure. A figure control bodysuit is all you need underneath to look shapely.
  3. The maxi dress:
Wear this on formal occasions as a dressy gown or in cotton and prints for brunches and beach parties. The maxi dress is always in fashion. For tall and broad bodies, big prints and bright colours look flattering. For petite frames, make sure you wear halter styles and small prints so you don't drown in the maxi length.
  4. The Shift dress:
the shift dress is a straight cut dress with no shapely silhouette. This dress is ideal for most body types and gives you a slimmer look on days when you have indulged a bit too much. The shift dress is a must in any solid colour because you can really dress it up easily with accessories. If you have a very thin waist, you can add a belt to your shift dress to make it sexy for an occasion.
  5. The wrap dress:
Perhaps the most flattering and slimming dress, the wrap dress looks great on anyone. The wrap style makes your waist appear thinner and gives a very fresh and young appeal to all figures. You also get faux wrap dresses which are pre-stitched to look like wraps. This is a great style non-hassle option for wrap dress lovers.
